Yayasan Sabah Group's strategic decision to lunch into fisheries and food industries has paved the way for awholly-owned subsidiary, Inno Fisheries Sdn.Bhd. to venture into seaweed cultivation project.

It is currently implementing a seaweed cultivation project in a coastal land of Pulau Kerindingan, off Semporna with the aim of becoming the major player in the production of high commercial value specie, Euchuema Kappaphycus Alverazii (Cotonii), raw material for kappa Carrageenan. Carrageenan is used as an echancer, emulsifier, gelling, thickening, binding and stabilizing agent in meat, diary, bakery, pharmacology and industrial products. Yayasan Sabah Group plans to venture into downstream processing of semi-fefined carrageenan in the near future.

It has identified livestock farming as a potential sector and will venture into cattle, goat and deer farming.

It will continue to explore, tap and participate in business opportunities in other food related sectors such as agri-food crops that could bringabout the desired investment returns.
