As Yayasan Sabah Group moves forward, there is a need for a more knowledgeable and skilled workforce in line with the halatuju of Sabah State Government and to be part of an industrialised and developed nation as envisioned in the objectives of VISION 2020. The biggest challenge has been and will continue to be to turn the largely poor rural population of Sabah in particular, from low to high-achievers especially in education and skill development. Key to the realisation of these plans is the development of human resources for which education and training will continue to be the main focus.

INTELLECTUAL AND MIND DEVELOPMENT

The Intellectual and Mind Development Program me aims to generate a knowledgeable society through the advancement and increase of knowledge and skills among individuals and society as a whole.

Implementation of the development phase is divided into three levels i.e. foundation education (kindergarten and primary school), professional and skills education (secondary and tertiary levels) and life education.

The Child Development Division functions as a 'consultant' and resource centre of preschool education, research and development of the early stage of a child.

The Intellectual and Mind Development Programme is divided into two: formal education and non-formal education.

Formal education consists of sponsorships, providing hostels and courses / training for the youth.

Non-formal education consists of leadership courses and seminars to enhance the knowledge and experience of an individual.

SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Socio-Economic Development aims at bring changes to individuals from dependance to self-reliance.

Yayasan Sabah Group, together with government agencies and non-govermental agencies, runs this programme to uplift the socio-economic level of the people especially in the rural areas.

Examples of activities carried out are agriculture, fisheries, handicraft small businesses and others.

It is hoped that such programmes will help the people possess value-added experience to secure job placement, the ability to be self-employed and the ability to become proprietors and generate economic growth.

SOCIO-CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT

The Socio-Cultural Development Programme helps to shape high moral values, self value, manliness and advancement (a good and clean way of life).

Through this programme, it is hoped that our new generations will help to preserve and to uplift the artistic and good culture in them.
